Statement of Faith

At GospelSalt.co.uk, we proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ with conviction, clarity, and compassion. Our foundation is the unchanging Word of God, and our mission is to encourage faithful discipleship, deepen understanding, and speak truth with grace in a world that desperately needs both salt and light.

We affirm the following:

1. The Bible

We believe that the Holy Scriptures, in their original manuscripts, are the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God—God-breathed in every word and entirely trustworthy in all that they affirm. The inspiration of Scripture extends to the very words of the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek texts, given by the Holy Spirit through human authors without error. These Scriptures are the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith, doctrine, and life.

While we affirm the value and usefulness of faithful translations, we recognise that only the original languages are inspired in the strict sense. Translations, when responsibly rendered and carefully interpreted in light of the original texts, are fully sufficient for knowing God, proclaiming the gospel, and living the Christian life.

2. God the Trinity
We believe in one sovereign God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—co-equal in power and glory, and perfect in holiness, justice, wisdom, and love.

3. The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe in the full deity and full humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His authoritative teaching, His atoning death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven, and His future visible return in glory. He is the only Saviour, the only Mediator between God and man, and the only name by which we must be saved.

4. The Holy Spirit
We believe in the person and work of the Holy Spirit, who glorifies Christ, convicts the world of sin, regenerates and sanctifies the believer, indwells and empowers the Church, and distributes gifts for the building up of the body and the fulfilment of God’s mission.

5. Salvation by Grace through Faith
We believe that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and that salvation is entirely by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. It is not earned by human merit or good works, but is received as a free gift  followed by repentance and personal trust in Christ alone for forgiveness, reconciliation, and new life.

6. The Church
We believe in the one holy, catholic, and apostolic Church, the body of Christ composed of all true believers. The Church is called to worship God, proclaim the gospel, make disciples, contend for the truth, and serve the world in love. We affirm the ministry of all believers, under the leadership of Christ, and uphold the biblical pattern of local and global fellowship.

7. The Sacraments
We affirm the two dominical sacraments given by Christ: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. These are outward signs of inward grace, to be received with faith, in obedience to Christ, and for the edification of His Church.

8. Christian Living
We believe that disciples of Jesus are called to live in holiness, humility, and love, walking in the Spirit and bearing fruit to the glory of God. Our lives are to be marked by worship, prayer, obedience to Scripture, love for one another, and active witness in the world.

9. The Return of Christ and Final Judgement
We believe that Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly to judge the living and the dead. He will bring justice to the nations, vindicate His people, and usher in the fullness of His eternal Kingdom. Those who are in Christ will be raised to everlasting life; those who reject Him to everlasting separation.

10. Marriage, Life, and Creation
We affirm that God created humanity male and female in His image, and that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman. We uphold the sanctity of life from conception to natural death, and the stewardship of creation under God’s sovereign rule.
